The Puerto Ricans built a comfortable lead in service winners (8-1) and also in blocks (7-3).

Pedro Molina, captain of Puerto Rico: “It was an easy match. I always say do not underestimate any opponent, but we built a comfortable margin and practically we were preparing for tomorrow’s match.”

Gerardo de Jesus, coach of Puerto Rico: “Even though we won by comfortable margin it was a complicated match since we didn’t know the opponent. We were coming from a five-setter and tomorrow we have to plat the home team Dominican Republic with the fans being a factor. I’ve told my players to concentrate on the ball.”
