Rico qualified in fifteenth position at the FIVB
U-18 Women's Volleyball World Championship by
defeating Canada in consecutive sets 3-0 (25-21,
28-26, 25- 23) on Wednesday.
Valeria Pagán and Chareika Carrión were the best
scorers for Puerto Rico with 16 and 12 points,
respectively. Lauryn Hovey had 14 points as the
best Canadian followed by Maryn Boldon with 12
and Tara Garvey with 10 points.
In the battle between teams from the same
NORCECA Confederation, Canada took the advantage
in blocks 10-3 but gave the opponent 25 points
in unforced errors while benefiting only from
16. The Puerto Ricans had the best part in
service winners 4-2 and in attacks 46-42. |
