WLOCLAWEK, Poland, Puerto Rico earned a berth at the Group 2
Final Four of the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix after a long and
bumpy victory against Argentina 3-1 (30-28, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22)
for their fifth win in a row.
Puerto Rico will be joined in the Final Four in Plovodiv,
Bulgaria by hosts Bulgaria, Dominican Republic and Poland.
The clash of the two teams from America, both qualified to the
Olympic Games, was a long journey through rises and falls for
both parties.
Thanks to a great performance of Karina Ocasio who registered 26
points, including with four blocks and three service aces,
Puerto Rico confirmed their good, consistent level before the
WGP Final Four.
Daly Santana, who has 14 points for Puerto Rico, received the
organizers’ award for the match’s Most Impressive Player. Lynda
Morales and Stephanie Enright added 12 and 11 points,
respectively, for the winners. Tanya Acosta and Emilce Sosa
topped Argentina with 13 points apiece.
