Puerto Rico takes gold in Punta Cana

PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, October 1, 2023.- The Puerto Rican duo Allanis Navas/María González won the gold medal this sunday at the Fourth Stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour 2023 after beating the team of USA Lexy Denaburg/Molly Turner 2-0 (23-21, 21-11).

The bronze was won by the other pair from the United States Corine Quiggle/Sarah Murphy who defeated the Dominican Republic duo Bethania Almanzar/Julibeth Payano 2-0 (21-15, 21-19).

In fifth position were the Canadians Dana Roskic/Calinda Kok who defeated the Mexicans Esperanza Albarrán/Yeray Vidaurrazaga 2-0 (21-17,21-18).

The Costa Ricans Angel Williams/Kianny Quesada finished seventh, defeating Guatemala Natalia Girón/Paola Alvarado 2-1 (18-21, 21-17, 15-12).

The other Canadian duo Lea Monkhouse/Marie-AlexBelanger finished ninth, beating the Virgin Islands Melanie Valenciana/Taylor Buckner 2-0 (21-10, 21-8), while the eleventh position was occupied by the Dominicans Crismil Paniagua/Nallelin Taveras who they beat Suraya Chase/Phylecia Armstrong 2-0 21-17, 21-5).
