BOQUERON, Puerto Rico, June 8, 2016 – The Puerto Rican National
Beach Volleyball Circuit will take place next July with seven
events covering the open and junior categories.
The matches will be held at the Central American Stadium of
Boqueron Beach in Cabo Rojo located in the western area of
Puerto Rico.
“There is a lot of enthusiasm among the players in the senior
category and the debut of the junior division,” said Arnaldo
Sanchez, director of the beach volleyball council of the Puerto
Rican Volleyball Federation. “We keep working hard to have a
huge event.”
The actions of the circuit begin on the weekend of July 2-3 with
the senior tournament, then the following week the Puerto Rican
Federation will make history with its first tournament of the
junior category.
NORCECA events confirmed
Sanchez also confirmed the dates for the Puerto Rican leg
corresponding to the NORCECA Circuit on August 5-7 and the first
NORCECA Junior International Open on August 10-14.
“Being part of NORCECA in different facets we want to leave our
mark with the creation of a junior tournament as the first step
to establish an annual event,” Sanchez said. “We have received
the authorization from the Confederation and are working to have
the event.”
Sanchez said that several national federations have showed
interest in participating in the junior tournament.
All the events have the support of the Municipality of Cabo Rojo
and its mayor Roberto “Bobby” Ramirez and the Foundation
Mayaguez 2010. |
