Rico, Canada, USA and Venezuela Secure Spots
in
Women’s Final Four at NORCECA Tour Finals
JUAN
DOLIO, Dominican Republic, December 13, 2025.- The women’s
semifinals of the 2025 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour Finals are set,
with duos from Puerto Rico, Canada, the United States, and Venezuela
advancing to the Final Four at Juan Dolio.
Puerto Rico’s María González and Allanis Navas, Canada’s Marie-Alex
Bélanger and Lea Monkhouse, USA’s Geena Urango and Megan Rice, and
Venezuela’s Sara López and Darlin Rodríguez emerged victorious from
Saturday’s quarterfinals.
González and Navas continue to make history, aiming to reach their
eighth gold medal match of the 2025 NORCECA Tour season—an
unprecedented achievement in the competition’s history. The Puerto
Rican pair will face Canada’s Bélanger and Monkhouse in one of
Sunday’s semifinals.
The
other semifinal will feature USA’s Urango and Rice against
Venezuela’s López and Rodríguez.
In
the quarterfinal round, González/Navas dominated Panama’s Krisleen
González and Ingrid Lezcano with a convincing 2-0 (21-7, 21-10)
victory. Bélanger/Monkhouse secured their semifinal spot by
defeating Mexico’s Susana Torres and Atenas Gutiérrez 2-0 (21-17,
21-14).
Urango/Rice followed with a comfortable 2-0 (21-8, 21-10) win over
Nicaragua’s Socorro López and Lolette Rodríguez, while Sara/Rodríguez
advanced after overcoming the Dominican Republic’s Yari Cleto and
Crismil Paniagua in straight sets, 2-0 (21-16, 23-21).
Earlier on Saturday, Cleto/Paniagua topped Pool A with a perfect
record, including a 2-0 (21-14, 21-16) win over Guatemala’s
Alvarado/Aguilar. González/Navas claimed first place in Pool B with
a 2-0 (21-15, 21-10) victory against Venezuela’s López/Rodríguez.
Mexico’s Torres/Gutiérrez won Pool C after defeating Nicaragua’s
López/Rodríguez 2-0 (21-12, 21-16), while Urango/Rice finished atop
Pool D with a 2-0 (21-18, 21-14) win over Bélanger/Monkhouse.
Sunday’s action begins at 8:00 a.m. (local time), with both women’s
semifinals played simultaneously.
