Rashanny Solano from Costa Rica: MVP of the XIV Central American U19
Women's Championship
BELIZE CITY, Belize, July 22, 2023. The outstanding performance of Costa
Rica’s libero, Rashanny Solano, earned her the title of Most Valuable
Player (MVP) of the XIV AFECAVOL U19 Women's Central American
Championship 2023.
Costa Rica dominated the individual awards, taking home an overall of
eight. Rashanny Solano, in addition to being the Most Valuable Player,
received awards for Best Libero, Best Receiver, and Best Defense.
The award of Second Best Spiker went to Joselyn Moraga, while Nhya
Barley was awarded Second Best Blocker. The captain, Angélica Rodríguez,
received the award for Best Opposite, and Sheyla Álvarez was recognized
for Best Service.
Belize secured two individual awards, with Khaya Gordon receiving the
recognition of First Best Spiker and Blessed Omamurhe being awarded
First Best Blocker.
Guatemala also had a standout player in the tournament’s ideal team,
with María Daniela Juárez being named Best Setter.
