SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 21, 2015 – A National
Course for Referees, Scorers and Judge Lines is taking place in
Santo Domingo organized by the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development
Center in the Dominican Republic.
The course under the supervision of Salvador Bautista, member of
the NORCECA Refereeing Commission, forms part of the NORCECA
Development Plan in collaboration with FIVB to assist all
national federations.
Attendees to the opening ceremony included Luis Mejía Oviedo,
president of the National Olympic Committee, who remarked on the
importance of education as a valuable tool for the development
of sports.
Participants from the 32 provinces of the country are receiving
training during the weekend course.
Ramon García, president of the Dominican Volleyball Federation,
expressed his satisfaction for the organization of the event and
pledged to continue offering support to the participation of
members of all national associations in the different courses
and seminars.
Garcia also thanked the NORCECA Confederation and its president
Cristobal Marte Hoffiz for the support and contribution to the
success of the course.
On behalf of the Regional Development Center, its vice director
Yoana Mota informed that a National Coaches Course and a VIS and
Data Volley Course will take place in the next two weekends in
addition the courses promoted by the Physical Education National
Institute. |
