Referees and Delegates conclude successful BVB at Managua 2017
MANAGUA, Nicaragua, December 8, 2017. - The double-gender Beach
Volleyball tournament of the eleventh Central American Games
2017 successfully concluded at the beach volleyball court
Salvador Allende under the supervision of international FIVB
referees and delegate members the control committee appointed by
the NORCECA volleyball Confederation.
Ariel Sainz from Cuba, member of the Board of Directors of
NORCECA and president of the NORCECA Technical and Coach
Commission, is the International Delegate appointed for beach
volleyball and indoor volleyball of the Games.
The NORCECA control committee finishes their first phase of
duties at the Central American Games with the completion of
beach volleyball from December 3-8 and now, with the addition of
other members, prepare the volleyball tournament that starts
December 10.
The members of the control committee are Edgar Alvarado of Costa
Rica, First NORCECA Vice-president and AFECAVOL President, Jose
Luis Jimenez Lao of Costa Rica, General Secretary of NORCECA and
AFECAVOL, Judith Sandino of Nicaragua, president of the NORCECA
Technical and Statistics Commission, Dr. Donibal Alvarez of
Dominican Republic, medical delegate, Marvin Mora of Costa Rica,
referee supervisor, Carolina Rivas of Guatemala, press officer
and Emir Alfaro of Nicaragua, photographer.
Sainz indicated “these hard working days finish with the arena
at its full capacity, the efforts of each member of the control
committee was essential for a successful event without
setbacks”.
Bertha Cuadra, President of Nicaragua’s National Federation, was
the knot tying us to the organizing committee assuring a
spectacular assemble for the tournament, said to the members of
the control committee “our Confederation’s support, under
Cristobal Marte’s direction, has and will continue to be crucial
for our development and that of volleyball in our region.
Nicaragua and the organizing committee of the Central American
Games are deeply thankful for the delegate’s backup for the
competition’s right operation”.
The fully experienced FIVB international referees certainty
during a total of 51 matches, 22 in the women’s division and 29
in the men’s field, kept the game clean under current FIVB rules
and under the supervision by referee delegate Marvin Mora.
The referees represented the seven Central American countries
alongside an neutral referee from the NORCECA region have
refereed in numerous stages of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball
Circuit, FIVB World Tour events and major Olympic cycle events.
Marvin Mora indicated that AFECAVOL has been interested in
motivating referee to complete courses and he is pleased with
all the referees’ performance during the past week of
competition. |
