Regional Center in Dominican Republic to celebrate 20th
anniversary
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, February 20, 2017 – The
NORCECA/FIVB Regional Volleyball Development Center in the
Dominican Republic is about to celebrate the 20th anniversary of
its foundation.
The institution founded on April 17 of 1997 was created to help
the development of volleyball in the region of the Americas and
since its beginning it has organized innumerable courses and
seminars receiving several awards as a role model institution.
Prof. Nelson Ramirez, director of the center, announced that a
new logo has been designed to identify the entity and at the
same time informed about the courses scheduled for 2017.
“We are very proud of the results achieved by our center in the
past 20 years with the support from NORCECA Confederation and
the FIVB,” Ramírez said.
“Our center has contributed to spread the seed of volleyball
through our technical courses for coaches, players, referees,
administration and several other important areas of volleyball
and beach volleyball,” Ramirez added.
The NORCECA/FIVB Regional Volleyball Development Center in
Dominican Republic has a key geographical location in the middle
of the Caribbean zone which makes it accessible as an
equidistant point for all the countries under its area of
influence.
The program of FIVB Courses for 2017 consists of a Level II
Coaches Course from June 4 to 10, a Level I Coaches Course from
August 12 to 18 and a Beach Volleyball Coaches Course from
October 6 to 12.
In collaboration with the Dominican Republic Olympic Committee a
Course of Sport Administration will be held from May 2 to 8.
National Courses in cooperation with the Dominican Republic
Volleyball Federation and the Physical Education Institute are
also scheduled from next March on.
The activities of 2017 will conclude with a National Volleyball
Festival for thousands of boys and girls of 10-12 years-old on
November 4-5 in Santo Domingo. |
