ZURICH, Switzerland, May 9, 2015 - With reserve setter Roberta
in charge of the game (so as to give Fofao a well-deserved
rest), Rexona-AdeS Rio de Janeiro destroyed Mirador Santo
Domingo 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-18) to claim first place in Pool A
of the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship.
Joing Rexona-AdeS in qualifying to Saturday's semifinals are
Volero Zurich. Mirador will be heading home. Rexona-AdeS and
Volero still have to wait for the outcome of the last match of
pool play to find out who they'll be playing next.
Despite the necessary changes that Bernardinho had to make, in
order to keep the team fresh for the semifnals, Rexona-AdeS had
absolutely no trouble disposing of the Caribbean side.
With Gabi and Natalia on the sides and Carol down the middle
earning the bulk of the points, the Brazilian side completely
overwhelmed the Dominicans including as many as 10 stuffs and
six aces.
Final ranking in Pool A: 1.
