Ricardo Calvo named MVP of NORCECA U 21
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, August 3, 2014– Ricardo Calvo of Cuba
was named the Most Valuable Player of the NORCECA Men’s U21
Continental Championship that finished on Sunday night with his
team claiming its fifth title.
Calvo, who played a key role in his team winning the gold medal,
also received the award to the Best Setter.
Other Cubans players awarded during the closing ceremony were
Osmany Uriarte as First Best Outside-Hitter, Luis Sosa as the
Second Best Middle Blocker, and Abrahan Alfonso as the Best
Server.
The Best Scorer and Best Opposite Player of the tournament was
Samuel Valdez of El Salvador, while his teammate José Mejía, was
elected the First Middle-Blocker. Brandon Koppers of Canada was
the Second Best Outside-Hitter.
Juan Napky of Honduras took home the awards as Best Digger, Best
Receiver and Best Libero. |
