Rivera recognized as Player of the Year by Writers Association
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 27, 2019 – Prisilla
Rivera, the veteran player who has been a permanent member of
the volleyball national, was recognized as Player of the Year by
the Santo Domingo Sport Writers Association during its annual
gala.
The writers took in consideration the contributions of Rivera to
the gold medal attained by the Dominican side at the Central
American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia and the
silver medal obtained in the Pan American Cup held in Santo
Domingo.
Rivera was awarded by Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of the
Female Project of the Dominican Federation accompanied by Luis
Mejía Oviedo, president of the Dominican Republic Olympic
Committee and COI member.
Marte Hoffiz presented Rivera with a prize check for RD$100,000
on behalf of the National Project.
Rivera first played with the National Team during the Pan
American Games in 2003 when the Dominican Republic won the gold
