CASTAWAYS BEACH, Antigua, January 21, 2016 - The Road to the Rio
de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games Beach Volleyball Tournament will
resume in NORCECA with the hosting of the Second Round
Continental Cup Qualifiers, which comprises the Caribbean Zonal
Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) and Eastern Caribbean
Volleyball Association (CAZOVA), from Friday until Sunday.
Over the next three days, the top six teams each from the first
round of the NORCECA Continental Cup qualifiers held by CAZOVA
and ECVA last year will battle it out in a double-elimination
men’s gender qualification best-of-five match series through the
finals.
At the end of the tournament, the top eight teams from the
tournament will qualify to the Third Round of NORCECA qualifiers
where they will be joined by the top four teams from the Central
American Volleyball Federation (AFECAVOL).
Among the teams competing in Antigua are the host country, St
Kitts & Nevis, Dutch St Maarten, St Vincent and The Grenadines,
Dominica and ECVA Round One winners as well as CAZOVA First
Round champions, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados,
Suriname, US Virgin Islands and Curacao.
The Preliminary Enquiry and Technical Meeting for all teams wil
be held on Thursday afternoon at Jolly Beach Hotel, Hibiscus
Room, under the supervision of NORCECA Supervisor Glenn Quinlan
and Competition Director, Daymian Stewart.
First serve on Friday is 9am. |
