TOKYO, Japan, August 6, 2021 – The USA duo of
April Ross and Alix Klineman are the Olympic
champions of women´s volleyball of Tokyo 2020
Games.
Ross and Klineman joined efforts to defeat
Australians Mariafe Artacho del Solar and
Taliqua Clancy 2-0 (21-15, 21-16) in the title
match.
Ross/Klineman won their pool with a 3-0 record
losing only one set and then triumphed in
straight sets against Germany’s Laura Ludwig and
Margareta Kozuch in quarterfinals and over
Switzerland’s Anouk Verge-Depre and Joanna
Heidrich in semifinals.
Vergé-Dépré and Heidrich took the bronze medal
after defeating Latvians Tina Graudina and
Anastasija Kravcenoka 2-0 (21-19, 21-15). |
