RIMINI, Italy, June 3, 2021 – Russia defeated
United States 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 17-25, 25-19)
in a men’s volleyball match of the FIVB Nations
League on Thursday.
It was the third victory against one loss for
Russia while the United States evened up its
record at 2-2.
Egor Kliuka and Maxim Mikhaylov were the best
scorers for Russia with 17 and 15 points,
respectively, while Ilia Vlasov and Anton
Semyshev contributed 12 and 10.
Thomas Jaeschke and Torey Defalco stood out for
USA with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
The Russians had the edge in blocks 6-5 while
the Americans had the slight margin in aces 3-2.
The Russians led in attacks 56-52 and benefitted
from 28 opponents’ errors while committing 25 of
