TOKYO, Japan, July 31, 2021 – Russia defeated
United States 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-19) in Pool
B of the women’s volleyball tournament of the
Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on Saturday.
Both teams have secured tickets to the
quarterfinals of the competition with their
current won-loss records of 3-1.
Nataliya Goncharova was the Russian offensive
leader with 26 points, followed by Arina
Fedorovtseva and Irina Vonkorova witth 13 and 11
points, respectively.
Jordan Larson and Haleigh Washington were
limited to 7 points apiece as the top American
scorers.
The Russian team only committed 7 unforced
errors and held the advantage of 13-8 in blocks
and 6-1 in aces. |
