Flores MVP of Group K
ST CROIX, Virgin
Islands, May 26, 2013 – Adriana Flores, the captain of El
Salvador team that won the NORCECA Group K Qualifier to the FIVB
Women’s World Championship, was selected as the Most Valuable
Player of the four-team event.
Flores played a key
role in the two come-from-behind victories achieved by El
Salvador over hosts U.S. Virgin Islands. El Salvador won its
four matches during the weekend.
Teammate Diana Romero
took home the award as best server while Preanka Williams of St
Vincent and Grenadines received the trophy as best libero.
The rest of the
individual recognitions during the closing ceremony went to the
hands of members of the local team.
Danielle Selkridge
was the most honored player as she received the awards as best
scorer, best spiker and best blocker.
Melissa
Schjang-Simmonds took the award as best setter while Sacha Gumbs
was the best received and Nysha Lindo came up with the best
digger award. |
