SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 26, 2022
- Centro Caribe Sports joins the beach events,
with the celebration of the First Central
American and Caribbean Games of this modality,
in the city of Santa Marta in the department of
Magdalena in Colombia from November 19-26.
The information was confirmed via a press
release by Sara Rosario (PUR), President of the
Commission for Future Venues of the regional
sports organization, and Luis Mejia (DOM),
President of Centro Caribe Sports. Santa Marta
2022 includes a program of 12 sports
disciplines.
The competition program includes: Open and Under
Water Swimming, handball, soccer, wrestling,
rugby, skateboard, surfing, tennis, ultimate
(frisbee), sailing and volleyball, and the
participation of more than 800 athletes.
"For Centro Caribe Sports, this event is
of enormous importance, because we unite our
members to share and compete in a contest of
this nature, facing the world's beach
tournaments," said Mejía.
A delegation made up of the President of the
regional sports organization and the President
of the Commission for Future Venues of Centro
Caribe Sports, have scheduled a visit to Santa
Marta in June, to install the Organizing
Committee of the Games and other topics of
interest.
Santa Marta is a coastal city in Colombia with
experience in multi-sport events, such as the
Bolivarian Games in 2017 and is hosting the V
South American Beach Games in 2023. |
