Santo Domingo 2026 Beach Volleyball Venue
Enters Final Stage of Preparation
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 16, 2026. – The beach
volleyball venue for the 25th Central American and Caribbean
Games Santo Domingo 2026 has entered its final stage of
preparation following an inspection visit to the Malecón
Deportivo, where the competition will take place from July 25 to
31. Officials confirmed the venue is 92 percent complete, in
line with the established construction schedule.
The inspection was led by Ariel Sainz Rodríguez, First Executive
Vice President of the NORCECA Volleyball Confederation, and
Juvenal Collado, the Sport Manager appointed to oversee the
venue, accompanied by other senior officials involved in the
organization of the event.
During the visit, officials confirmed that only venue dressing
and logistical work remain before the facility is fully ready to
welcome the first participating teams, which are scheduled to
arrive on July 22 to begin their preparations ahead of the
competition.
The complex will feature all the functional areas required for
an international event of this caliber. It will include four
sand courts—two competition courts and two training courts—as
well as operational areas for athletes, officials, media, and
event services, in addition to spectator facilities. The venue
will have a seating capacity of 450 spectators, providing
optimal conditions for the tournament and an enjoyable
experience for fans.
The beach volleyball tournament at the Central American and
Caribbean Games will begin on July 25 with the preliminary round
and conclude on July 31 with the medal matches. A total of 52
matches per gender will be played throughout the competition.
The project has been closely monitored by José Monegro,
President of the Santo Domingo 2026 Organizing Committee; Luis
Mejía Oviedo, President of Centro Caribe Sports; Cristóbal Marte
Hoffiz, President of the NORCECA Volleyball Confederation; and
Carolina Mejía, Mayor of the National District, who have closely
followed the venue's development to ensure it meets the highest
international standards.
With the remaining work scheduled for completion in the coming
days, the venue will be ready to host a world-class competition,
where the region's top beach volleyball teams will compete for
the medals at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games
Santo Domingo 2026.
