Sarai Alvarez only behind Eva Cruz in Puerto Rican League

CATAÑO, Puerto Rico, February 11, 2015 – Opposite Sarai Alvarez surpassed Lily Denoon as the second all-time scorer of the Puerto Rican Women’s Superior League.

The strong attacker of Mayaguez Indians landed a spike for her 3,794 point in the fourth quarter of the match against Cataño with the score 13-10 in favor of the Indians, to overcame Denoon.

The native of El Maní neighborhood in Mayaguez, finished the night with 13 attacks, one short of the 3,000 plateau.

The member of the Puerto Rican National Team comes back into action next Sunday in a match against Naranjito.

Eva Cruz, who retired after the 2012 season, is the all-time leader of the Puerto Rican Women’s Superior League with 4,375 points.
