Schalk and Casebeer doing well in Hato Mayor
HATO MAYOR, Dominican Republic, November 1, 2019 – Chaim
Schalk and Jeremy Casebeer of United States-B came out
winners from their two matches of opening day at the Hato
Mayor Beach Volleyball Tournament, the ninth stop of the
2019 NORCECA Circuit.
Playing in Pool D, Chaim and Casebeer first defeated Carlos
Escobar and David Vargas of El Salvador 21-17, 21-11 and
closed their day with a 21-16, 21-13 victory against Marlon
Phillip and Karem Thomas of Trinidad & Tobago.
Schalk and Casebeer will complete their pool play on
Saturday facing Martinique’s Brice Harcy Dessources and
David Lefaivre
In Pool A, Boris Duarte and Sebastian Valenciano of Costa
Rica will meet Alex Medina and Jean Carlos Espinal of
Dominican Republic-A after defeating Tim Brewster and
Jonathan Ferrari of USA-A 23-21, 19-21, 15-11 in 58 minutes
of action.
In Pool B, Nicaraguans Ruben Mora and Dany Lopez defeated
Puerto Ricans Kevin Rodriguez and Cristian Encarnacion
24-22, 18-21, 15-13 and will play Dominican Republic-B on
Saturday.
Pool C features a duel between Canadians for the top of the
group. Earlier on Friday Ian Towe and Sergey Grabovskyy
defeated Belize’s Francis Hauze and Michael Jenkins 21-15,
21-15, while Jake McNeil and Simon Fecteau-Boutin won
against the same team 21-11, 21-18.
