TUXTA GUTIERREZ, Mexico, September 25th 2010.—
Argentina won the bronze medal of the Final Four Cup after
defeating Mexico 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-11).
The South American team won the match in less than one hour (57
minutes) with a great performance by Tanya Acosta, who
registered 10 points, and Florencia Busquets, who finished with
9.
The best scorer of the match was Alejandra Isiordia from Mexico,
who tallied 13 points. Mexico finished in the fourth place of
the tournament, but the coach and players stated that it was an
experience that can be helpful for their preparation in future
competitions.
“Even Though we did not have a good row in this tournament, I
think this will help the young girls to be ready and prepare to
the Youth World Championship championship in Turkey”, said
Yazmin Hernández, Mexico’s captain.
“We are happy for winning the third place, because we took
seriously every match, we could control the attack of Mexico and
work in our blocking game”, the argentinan captain, Antonela
Curatola said.
For coach Alfredo Bernal there were a lot of things that can be
rescued. “Facing these teams is always a great experience, that
is an issue we rescue from this tournament, our girls are young
and needed to play against the big ones”, he said.
“We did everything that we planned, and I am happy for this
victory, we did everything right, and Mexico also showed good
aspects in its game, the Final Four is something that can be
worhty for them, because you must have these kind of experience
that can take you to the next step”, finished argentinan coach
