Seven Teams ready to compete at U19 Pan Am Cup
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 22, 2019 – The third
edition of the U19 Boys’ Volleyball Pan American Cup will take
place in Santo Domingo with the participation of seven teams
from the Américas.
The tournament will be disputed at the Ricardo Arias Pavilion
and is a qualifier to the FIVB World Championship of the
age-group.
Teams in Pool A are: Nicaragua, Cuba, Guatemala and Dominican
Republic. Teams in Pool B are: Chile, Mexico and Puerto Rico
Three daily matches will be played starting at 15:00, 17:00 and
19:00 with Dominican side always playing in the nightcap.
Thursday’s schedule features the matches of Nicaragua and Cuba,
followed by Puerto Rico vs Chile and Guatemala vs Dominican
Republic.
Nelson Ramírez, director of the competition announced that the
Ministry of Sports and Recreation will cover the cost of room
and board of the visiting countries at the recently-opened
Albergue Olímpico.
The transportation of the teams will be provided by the
Metropolitan Organization of Transportation (OMSA) while the
medical services will be managed by the Central Hospital of the
Armed Forces.
The accreditation process of the media is currently underway and
the teams will go through the preliminary inquiry on Tuesday
morning with the Technical Meeting scheduled in the evening.
