Slovenia beat Canada in straight sets

RIMINI, Italy, June 9, 2021 – Slovenia defeated Canada 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22) in the opening day of the third round at the FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League on Wednesday.

The match was closer than the 3-0 score shows as the Slovenians main favorable difference relied on the attacks 44-34.

The rest of the scoring categories were pretty evened at the end of the contest as the Canadians led in blocks 5-3 and the Slovenians did in serves 5-2.The winners committed 22 errors to 23 by the losers.

Toncek Stern had 17 points as the main offensive weapon of Slovenia, followed by Klemen Cebulj and Tine Urnaut with 12 and 10, respectively.

For Canada, Nicholas Hoag had 16 and John Gordon Perrin added 10.
