Solemn inauguration of the Norceca circuit in La Paz 

LA PAZ, Mexico, April 20, 2018 - The start of the Norceca Beach Volleyball International Circuit had a special touch with the opening ceremony with the presence of civil and military authorities who welcomed the participating delegations.

On behalf of the Governor of Baja California Sur, Carlos Mendoza Davis, the Government General Secretary, Álvaro de la Peña Angulo addressed the opening declaration of the event, which was preceded by a ceremony of Honors to the Flag and Mexican National Anthem, by members od the Mexican Navy Escort and Marine Corps War Band.

Representatives of the participating delegations participated in a special parade on the main court of the main field of the stadium that was temporarily conditioned for this competition, which according to the organizers, has put this city on an international level again thanks to beach volleyball.

"We are convinced that this is a great stop, the number one in the circuit, after three consecutive years of success," said the Competition Director, Daymian Stewart, who addressed a message on behalf of the President of the Confederation, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz.

Meanwhile on behalf of the Mexican Volleyball Federation, the Beach Volleyball Coordinator, Hilda Gaxiola, gave also a message in representation of President Jesús Perales Navarro.

Due to the success of the circuit at this venue, the National federation looks forward to host the Continental Cup that will be a qualification tournament to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, in two years.

"This is something we are working on and thanks to the enthusiasm of the Sudcalifornian Sports Institute (INSUDE), the State Association and the response of the people, we would like to host this pre-Olympic qualifier," he said.

The State Secretary of Education, Héctor Jiménez Marquez, as well as the INSUDE Director, José Avila Geraldo, as well as the Municipal Sports Director of La Paz, Salvador Gutiérrez Martínez, were also present among other personalities as part of the celebration.
