- The NORCECA Volleyball Confederation goes
through the sadness of announcing the death in
Zaragoza, Spain, of Miguel Ángel Quintana,
president of the Spanish Volleyball Federation
between 1988 and 2000.
Quintana, who was executive vice president of
the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB)
and a member of the executive committee of the
Spanish Olympic Committee, was 75 years old.
Player, referee and coach, Quintana was vice
president of the European Volleyball
Confederation between 1996 and 2001.
Following his departure from the presidency of
the Spanish Federation, he presided over the
Beach Volleyball Commission of the FIVB, was
elected Executive Vice President in 2005 and
served on the Board of Directors for the period
2006-2010. |
