St. Martin burns St. Kitts and Nevis
MARIGOT, St. Martin, October 29, 2016 - The St. Martin Phoenix
torched the Sugar City ladies of St. Kitts with a score line of
25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19. Host St. Martin attacked from all
areas of the court putting their counter parts on the
defensive. Middle blocker Jacqueline Hodge tore a gaping hole
in the Sugar ladies defense. Her efforts resulted in some
twenty two points and fourteen blocks
Team St. Kitts and Nevis seemed to have corrected their poor
start in the second set. However, that momentum was quickly
snuffed out. Shanicia Dyer tried hard to rally her team
unfortunately it was in sufficient to retard the heat of the
“Phoenix”. She scored a total of eleven points and eleven
blocks.
While both teams acknowledged deep respect for each other,
Captain Damaseau and Coach Legras of St. Martin the team
executed well as they played complete volleyball. It was
important to secure maximum points as the next opponents are not
afraid of playing all out.
Captain Henry of St. Kitts and Nevis felt her team needed to
communicate more and relax and have fun while playing. Coach
Collins concurred with her but indicated today’s game was about
finding the best rotation for Sunday’s finals. |
