Eardley Martin was in his usual upbeat mood “This was a
redemption game for our guys who wanted to prove that they were
much better that what was displayed in the match they lost.
Everything went as planned except for the third game where we
took out some of our key players to allow them to rest for the
semifinal later. Even then I am sure you could see that the
opponents were no match for us”, he summed up.
Coach Player Jason Liburd can be labeled the eternal optimist.
He was more focused on the progress of his rookies. “At this
stage it is not about winning or losing for us. We are happy
that the young guys got a chance to actively participate and we
noted that hey have improved from match 1 to match 3. In any
sport the game is the best teacher and we can aver that they
have learnt a lot over the course of the competition. We next go
on to play for 5th and 6th position and
even if we don’t win a game we want to see the youngsters
improving game by game. Once we get that we will consider this
tournament a great success for us”, he reported. |
