Stage set for U19 NORCECA Championship

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, June 5 2018.- The stage is set for seven teams to compete at the NORCECA U19 Boys’ Continental Championship from June 6-10 at Gimnasio Nacional of San José, Costa Rica.

NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz conducted a joint meeting between members of the control committee and the Costa Rican Federation to review the final preparations for the competition that grants two tickets to next year’s age-group FIVB World Championship.

Reports were presented by each delegate, explaining the inspections held during the day at the competition hall, training venue and lodging facilities.

Cristobal Marte looked over the regulations to underline each aspect of the tournament, with AFECAVOL and Costa Rica’s National Federation President Edgar Alvarado detailing the organizing committee’s rol.

The preliminary inquiries are scheduled for Tuesday morning and the competition kicks off on Wednesday with opening match between Guatemala and United States at 3:00 pm (local time).

Teams are distributed in two pools with Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and host Costa Rica in pool A and pool B consisting of current champions Cuba, United States, Guatemala and Honduras.
