THE HAGUE, the Netherlands, July 6, 2015 – NORCECA teams from
United States, Canada, Cuba, Mexico, El Salvador, Puerto Rico,
Guatemala and Costa Rica took part in the FIVB Beach Volleyball
World Championships that concluded on Sunday.
The USA duo of Nick Lucena and Theodore Brunner finished in
fourth place of the men’s division after losing the bronze medal
match to Brazilians Pedro Solberg and Evandro Goncalves 2-0
(22-20, 21-13) on Sunday.
Cubans Nivaldo Díaz and Sergio González, Mexicans Juan Virgen
and Lombardo Ontiveros and Canadians Josh Binstock and Sam
Schachter were eliminated in the Round of 16, while Jacob Gibb
and Casey Patterson of United States reached the quarterfinals.
In the women’s segment, the teams of Lauren Fendrick and Brooke
Sweat of United States and of Canada’s Sarah Pavan and Heather
Bansley competed until the quarterfinals round.
