Sigourney Kame, fresh from winning 5 awards including MVP in the just concluded CAZOVA U23 tournament continued in fine form with 11 points and her team mate Sandrina Hunsel assisting with 11 points, contributed significantly to the team’s victory.

Barbados Coach Shon Hurdle thought they had too many unforced errors especially in serving.  We must look pass this game and prepare for Trinidad and Tobago who is a very strong team but if we are to put up any resistance we must improve on our serving.

Ashley Jordan, Captain of Team Barbados, congratulated her opponent for playing a great game and was also quick to acknowledge her team mates performance.  We have a very young team and it is our hope to gain experience while improving in every game as we go forward.

Suriname Eric Aikman – Our team performed well and I was able to use some of my other players since Barbados did not played as I expected.  Their team is very young and it give me the opportunity to use all my players to give them game time and exposure.

Cheryl Burnnings, Suriname Captain congratulated her colleagues for a good and positive start. We had very good blocks at the beginning of the game and it give us the momentum to continue for the balance of the game.

The format of this tournament is a round robin with the top two teams playing the finals for the gold medal and the 3rd and 4th ranked will play for the bronze medal. The tournament will end on Monday 2nd July 2018.
