Bahamas team captain Brittany Bonamy was overwhelmed by her team
performance even though they did not win the game. “My team had
great fighting spirit and our blocking and passing but we were
unable to convert sufficient attacks to points. We now must
concentrate on our next game which is the final group match.”
Covance Mortimer, Bahamas Head coach who arrived early in the
morning was able to motivate his team to an acceptable
performance stating. “there were too many mental mistakes and
lapses. Hurdles at crucial points must be overcome to improve
performance for our next match against Barbados” he commented.
Cheryl Burnnings, Suriname Captain said “ another great win to
secure the final position match. We played better against
Barbados but it was equally good victory. Our passing was not
good in the second set and that caused us some difficulties but
we were able to regroup and win the set.”
Suriname Eric Aikman – “the match was a good preparation for our
upcoming game against Trinidad and Tobago. Bahamas played well
and we had the opportunity for our players to respond to the
challenge.
