Suriname stop T&T 3-0 in CAZOVA Under-19
SPANISH TOWN, Jamaica, July 23, 2019 - Suriname defeated
Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 in the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball
Association (CAZOVA) boys' Under-19 tournament at GC Foster
College Monday afternoon.
The Suriname players methodically took apart their opponents
with skill and power, delicately placing the ball in open
spaces, while hammering spikes to various parts of the court to
win 25-19, 25-15, 25-15 and secure their second victory in the
tournament.
Suriname had defeated host Jamaica 25-16, 25-20, 25-20 in their
first match on the opening day Monday and now put themselves in
a good position to qualify for the final, which will be played
on Saturday.
Suriname's coach Gepouw Verdy said, "this one is much better
than the first one. The total package today was much better. The
most important thing is that they are improving and I am hoping
that they can get even better."
Trinidad and Tobago's coach Peer Nasseir, said, "again too many
errors. The errors weren't as bad as yesterday, but too many
attacking errors as we weren't able to score effectively and
Suriname were able to defend and counter-attack and then we
weren't able to block them out." |
