Suriname to Host NORCECA Beach Volleyball
Tour for the First Time
PARAMARIBO, Suriname, July 23, 2025. – Suriname will make history
this week as it hosts the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour for the
first time ever, welcoming teams from across the region to the fifth
leg of the 2025 season. The competition will take place July 25-27
in Telesur Cul Complex in Paramaribo.
A total of sixteen teams have pre-registered to compete, with final
participation confirmed during the preliminary inquiry scheduled for
July 24.
In the women’s field, looking to break through are Mexico’s Susana
Torres and Atenas Gutiérrez, who have finished second place at all
four stages so far.
In the men’s competition, Mexico’s Inés Vargas Lares and Carlos
Andrés Ayala also enter the tournament with strong credentials,
having won gold in Puerto Cortés and bronze in Juan Dolio.
The event also marks the 2025 debut of the American duo Taylor and
Trevor Crabb, who bring a wealth of international experience. Taylor
Crabb last competed on the NORCECA Tour in 2022, when he paired with
Taylor Sander in the qualification tournament for the FIVB World
Championship.
The 2025 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour awards valuable points toward
both the continental and world rankings. Importantly, it also marks
the start of the qualification process for the 2026 Central American
and Caribbean Games, set to take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican
Republic—adding an extra layer of motivation for all participating
teams. |
