BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, December 9, 2015 - Trinidad & Tobago
rebounded from their Group B first game loss to stop Martinique
in four sets when the 10th CAZOVA Junior championships entered
Day Three of action at the Wildey Gym, Bridgetown.
A whopping 21 points with 17 kills from Marlon Philip led T&T to
victory 25-12, 18-25, 25-15, 25-11. Nathanael Noreiga was
successful 12 times while Adriel Roberts added 11 points for the
winners who will meet Haiti in their final bid for both team to
grab a playoff spot.
Martinique who earned 12 of their points through Rony Dinal and
Boris Agesilas' nine points will play their finals game against
the rampant defending champions Barbados with the Bajans looking
to advance unbeaten while Martinique would want to at least win
one match.
Although the French team matched T&T in reception and ground
defence they were overpowered in the scoring skills of spiking,
blocking and serving by the lads from the Land of the
Hummingbirds. |
