Tapia scored a match-high 22 points and Ariana
Rodríguez Fung and Crismely Rodriguez added 17
and 13, respectively, helping the Dominican
Republic in their win over Thailand at the FIVB
U19 Volleyball World Championship on Tuesday.
The 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 24-26, 25-21) victory
sent Dominican Republic to a match for the 9-10
positions against the winner of the match
between Slovakia and Argentina on Wednesday.
Ampha Sonsurat was the main scorer for Thailand
with 17 points, followed by Donphon Sinpho with
14.
The Dominicans outscored the Thais in the
blocking category 13-7 and held a slight margin
of 9-8 in service winners. Tapia and Rodriguez
Fung each had four blocks while Alanae
Margaritha added three. |
