The Sports Excellence Center in the Dominican Republic inaugurated its first Artificial Intelligence Course for the application of AI in training planning and sports analysis.

Present at the opening ceremony was Mr. Cristóbal Marte, Vice President of the FIVB, who expressed his delight at seeing so many coaches participating and encouraged them all to utilize this tool in athlete preparation to achieve better results in competitions. He also congratulated Professor Nelson Ramírez for his ongoing commitment to developing more properly trained sports personnel in the field of sports in general.

Engineer Garibaldi Bautista, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, said he was very pleased with the presence of approximately 60 coaches from 21 sports gathered to receive this course on Artificial Intelligence. He explained that as soon as Professor Ramírez visited the Olympic Committee and presented the idea, they immediately decided to support the federations in sending their coaches to this important course, and 21 federations have confirmed their participation.

Professor Nelson Ramírez expressed his satisfaction that this is the first activity undertaken by the Center of Sports Excellence since its promotion to a global level. He added that coaches from Panama, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic are participating in the course. Having coaches from 21 sports gathered together is unprecedented in the country, and they hope that upon its conclusion next Sunday, the new knowledge will be applied to achieve better results in the competitions in which they participate.

The course is supported by Opal Jeans, INEFI, the Ministry of Sports, the Olympic Committee and the NORCECA Confederation.
