Three teams secure post-season spots in Puerto Rico
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, March 10, 2015 – Caguas, Mayaguez and
Juncos teams all have secured post-season berths in the Puerto
Rican Women’s Superior League at the conclusion of the eighth
week of the 2015 campaign.
Caguas leads the standings with 41 points, the product of 13
wins and 3 losses. The Criollas have five 3-0 victories and
eight 3-1 wins. Mayaguez (33, 12-4) and Juncos (30, 10-6) are in
second and third place, respectively.
Ponce sits comfortable in the fourth position with 26 points
from its 8-8 win-loss record. Catano (18, 6-10) and Carolina
(17, 6-10) follow in fifth and sixth place, respectively, while
Naranjito is in the bottom of the standings with 3 points and a
1-15 mark.
The regular season runs until March 22 with the seven teams each
playing 20 matches.
Caguas won their two matches of last week over Catano (25-13,
25-8, 25-15) and Mayaguez (25-27, 25-20, 25-22, 26-24). |
