TIJUANA, Mexico, December 15, 2016 – The updates of the
Children´s International Volleyball Festival were presented
during the last meeting held at the FIVB-Norceca Regional
Development Centre.
On behalf of the Centre General Director, Saul Castro Verdugo,
the Operations Director, Alberto Arreola conducted the meeting
in company of coaches and technical staff.
“We want to get the best of this experience, it is our first
time in a festival like this as we prepare to host a good
event,” Arreola stated.
“The festivals have been successful in several countries in
South America, Europe, Africa and Asia for example,” he added.
The Operations Director, who is also member of the FIVB
Financial Commission mentioned that volleyball is a sport with a
great social responsibility worldwide.
“We have seen the FIVB reports and there have been very
important initiatives promoted by the International Federation,
such as a scholar development programme in Somalia, for
example,” he remarked.
“Also the United Nations promoted a women´s tournament in
Afghanistan as we have seen in the Federation’s website during
our preparation meetings. Volleyball has a great projection as a

part of this.”
