Top seeded without problems in opening day at St Lucia
PIGEON POINT, St Lucia, October 14, 2016 – The Olympian duo of
Karen Cope and Natalia Alfaro of Costa Rica got two victories on
day one at the St Lucia Beach Volleyball Tournament, the 10th
stage of the 2016 NORCECA Circuit.
The Costa Ricans dominated Paul/Billy of Grenada (21-5, 21-4)
and then defeated Guatemala’s Girón/Bethancourt (21-16, 21-11).
On the other hand, the second-seeded team of Emily Day/Irene
Hestes of United States also claimed two victories in a row by
defeating compatriots Ledoux/Stockman in three sets (25-23,
19-21, 15-8) and then breezing past Fanny/Caro of Guadeloupe
(21-10, 21-7).
