Top-seeded Bansley & Wilkerson reach semifinals in Boca Chica

BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic, October 6, 2018 – Top-seeded Heather Bansley and Brandie Wilkerson of Canada advanced to the semifinals of the Boca Chica Beach Volleyball Tournament where they will face Cubans Arlin Hechavarría and Yanisleidis Sánchez.

The other semifinal contest will see an All-USA encounter with Kelley Larsen and Emily Stockman against Alix Klineman and April Ross.

Bansley and Wilkerson won a tough quarterfinals match against highly touted compatriots Sarah Pavan and Melisa Humana-Paredes 2-0 (21-18, 23-21) in 38 minutes.

On the other hand, Hechavarría and Sánchez defeated Mexicans Martha Revuelta and Zaira Orellana 2-0 (21-12, 21-19) in 32 minutes.

Larsen and Stockman only needed 27 minutes to eliminate Dominican Republic’s Alondra Berroa and Juliberth Payano 2-0 (21-11, 21-11) in 27 minutes, while Klineman and Ross beat Mexicans Stephanie Burnside and María Quintero 2-0 (21-15, 21-15) in 30 minutes.
