RIMINI, Italy, May 31, 2021 - Canada joined the
Dominican Republic as NORCECA Confederation
teams that fell in five sets to their European
opponents in the continuation of the FIVB
Women's Volleyball Nations League.
The Canadians were leading 2-1 in the fourth
frame only to see their rivals from Turkey mount
a comeback to take the 3-2 victory (25-23,
19-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15- 12). It was the fourth
defeat for the Canadian team in as many games.
Ebrar Karakurt recorded 21 points to lead four
Turkish players in double figures in the charts.
Hande Baladin added 16 while Tugba Senoglu and
Meryem Boz chipped in with 12 and 11 points.
Canada’s Kiera Van Ryk led all the scorers with
27 points followed by Andrea Mitrovic and Hilary
Howe with 15 points apiece and Emily Maglio with
