Two pairs from NORCECA to play for women’s world title
HAMBURG, Germany, July 5, 2019 – It will be an All-NORCECA in
the women’s finals of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World
Championships with Canada’s Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah
Pavan clashing against United States’ April Ross and Alex
Klineman for the title on SaSwiturday.
Humana-Paredes and Pavan reached the gold medal encounter after
defeating Switzerland’s Tanja Huberli and Nina Betschart 2-1
(23-21, 17-21, 19-17) while Ross and Klineman won their
semifinals contest against Australia’s Mariafe Artacho del Solar
and Taliqua Clancy 2-0 (21-15, 21-18).
In quarterfinals, Humana-Paredes/Pavan defeated Italy’s Marta
Menegatti and Viktoria Orsi Toth 2-0 (21-12, 21-12) and Ross/Klineman
beat compatriots Sara Hughes and Summer Ross 2-0 (21-18, 21-14). |
