SAN SALVADOR, August 17, 2022 - On Tuesday,
August 16, the teams had the preliminary meeting
where they presented the official stationery and
clothing to participate in the V AFECAVOL U23
Central American Championship.
The delegations arrived on Cuscatleco soil on
Monday, August 15, and for this Tuesday their
appointment was with the control committee.
The interview itinerary was developed with
Guatemala being the first selection to face the
interviews, followed by Honduras, El Salvador,
Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
For this Tuesday, the teams also had scheduled
field reconnaissance at the Palacio de los
Deportes in San Salvador, where starting this
Wednesday, August 17, and until next Sunday,
August 21, they will compete for the U-23
Central American title.
The six countries will compete against each
other, the days will consist of three matches
per day starting at 2:00 pm, followed by a match
at 4:30 pm and ending with the last match of
each day at 7:30 pm.
Also on August 16, the Organizing Committee and
the Control Committee inspected the facilities
and field of the sports venue that, starting
this Wednesday 17, will receive the V AFECAVOL
U23 Central American Championship.

Reider Lucas, coach of Guatemala:
“The boys are very motivated, very happy to
compete, we know that the competition is going
to be difficult, but we want to go out and look
for victory in every game. We have had the
opportunity to win the four previous editions,
not least coming for the fifth title, but we
know that it is a very even competition, and we
will try to make the best effort”.
Marvin Ulloa, coach of Honduras:
“I am very happy, very excited about this
opportunity to lead my country in the U23
Central American Cup, we have high expectations,
a very young team, but with a lot of desire to
show that Honduras has a lot of courage and a
lot of talent".
Gabriel Linares, coach of El Salvador:
"With a view to the V Championship at the
Central American level in this modality, we have
tried to prepare ourselves quite well to be able
to face the competition, we believe that we are
in optimal conditions to go looking for a podium
in this championship".
Jorge Mena, coach Nicaragua:
"We are preparing hard for this championship, we
are here to defend the medal we obtained the
previous time and we are here to give it our
all, try to be on the podium and do our best for
our country."
Arturo Solano, coach of Costa Rica:
"Excited to be here in El Salvador to face this
Central American men's tournament, the team is
preparing hard for the matches and eager to
start tomorrow in our first match against
Guatemala." |
