USA Satterfield and Urrutia win the men’s title in Cayman Islands

SEVEN MILE BEACH, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, November 13, 2022.- Ian Satterfield and Jake Urrutia of the United States beat Andy Blanco and Luis García of Guatemala 2-0 (21-15, 21-19) for the men’s title of the seventh stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in Cayman Islands.

In semifinals Ian Satterfield and Jake Urrutia beat Liam Kopp and Arran Chambers of Canada 2-0 (21-13, 21-17), finishing the event undefeated.

In the other semifinal, Andy Blanco and Luis García of Guatemala won the Central American battle to Criforth Lobo and Daniel Dyner of Costa Rica 2-0 (21-14, 21-13).

Things were different this weekend for Canadians Kopp/Chambers who took the bronze medal over Costa Rican Lobo and Dyner 2-0 (21-13, 21-13); last weekend they lost the bronze in Hato Mayor.

In the match for fifth place, Jorge Barajas and Gabriel Cruz of Mexico defeated Martin Blake and Owayne Lawrence of Jamaica 2-0 (21-10, 21-15).

Earlier, Pepe Vargas and Armando Guatemala of El Salvador defeated Marc Lomeli/Daniel Samuelson of the U.S. Virgin Islands 2-0 (21-11, 21-13) for seventh place.

Rony Fleridor/Olando Joseph of Haiti won the match for nineth place 2-0 (22-20, 23-21) to Casey Santamaría/Jesario Ebanks of Cayman Islands.
