USA and Japan National Teams to join for training sessions
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, February 14, 2020 – The U.S.
Women’s National Team will host Japan in a joint training
session from March 14-21 at the American Sports Centers in
Anaheim, California.
As part of the training week, the two countries will engage in
an exhibition match on March 20 at Santiago Canyon College in
Orange, California.
While rosters for both USA and Japan have not been confirmed,
the American roster will be composed mostly of college
student-athletes who will be joining Spring Training Camp in
Anaheim. Several U.S. Women’s National Team members will also
be in training at that time in Anaheim, including Olympians
Jordan Larson, Foluke Akinradewo and Rachael Adams, along with
Tori Dixon.
College players invited to the Spring Training Camp are liberos
Morgan Hentz (Stanford) and Hana Lishman (Pepperdine); middles
Brionne Butler (Texas), Danielle Hart (Wisconsin) and Kaitlyn
Hord (Penn State); outside hitters Kara Bajema (Washington),
Dani Drews (Utah), Logan Eggleston (Texas), Mac May (UCLA), Alli
Stumler (Kentucky); opposites Skylar Fields (Texas), Kenzie
Koerber (Utah) and Stephanie Samedy (Minnesota); and setters
Sydney Hilley (Wisconsin), Erin Olson (UCF) and Ella May Powell
(Washington).
Additional college players may be invited to attend the Spring
Training Camp following the U.S. Women’s National Team Open
Tryouts, which are being held Feb. 21-23 in Colorado Springs.
Japan, which will provide its Anaheim training roster later this
month, is hosting the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo with indoor
volleyball taking place July 25-Aug.
