DURANGO, Mexico, September 29, 2021 – United
States claimed the bronze medal at the FIVB
Girls’ U18 Volleyball World Championship after
defeating Serbia 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 26-28,
25-18) on Wednesday night.
McKenna Wucherer and Rebekah Allick shared the
scoring lead for the United States squad with 16
points each. Harper Murray added 15 and Chloe
Chicoine contributed 13 in the victory.
Jovana Zelenovic was Serbia's best offensive
player with 15 points, followed by Iva Zukurovic
and Una Vajagic with 13 each.
The United States led in blocking 15-11 and
managed a small 9-8 margin in serves. The
winners made 29 errors to 26 of the losers and
led in attacks 51-39. |
