USA continue on the right path

EKATERINBURG, Russia, June 18, 2019 – Defending champions United States cruised past Russia to secure a straight-set victory 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-17) and also spot in the Finals of the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League on Tuesday.

Michele Bartsch-Hackley, Jordan Larson and Chiaga Ogbogu contributed 16, 10 and 10 points, respectively, as the offensive stars of the winners. Haleigh Washington added 8, including half of the 8 blocks made by her team.

Angelina Lazarenko and Irina Voronkova each finished with 9 points in the loss.

USA are now one of five teams –including host’s Finals China- with 10 victories. Poland (8-5, 24 points) is likely the other finalist, but Japan and Dominican Republic remain with marginal chances of making the trip to Ningbo.
