USA defeated Argentina in four sets

CANNES, France, June 14, 2019 – The United States defeated Argentina 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21) to kick off the third round of the FIVB 2019 Men’s Volleyball Nations League on Friday.

Benjamin Patch and Taylor Sander finished with 17 and 14 points, respectively, as the most important contributors to the victory of USA. Facundo Conte and Federico Pereyra had 16 and 14 points for Argentina.

The Americans led in attacks 54-50 and blocks 9-7 while the Argentineans led in aces 6-4. The winners made 24 errors while the losers committed 29.

USA Team improved their win-loss record of 4-3 and the Argentineans dropped to 2-5.

The top five ranked teams at the end of the five-round tournament will join the United States for the Final Six to compete for the top prize of $1,000,000 in Chicago, Illinois.
